Join CASA for the May 22nd Rally for Children: Soul Train Edition

sierra_loDEAR CASA Supporter!

You are invited to join with CASA of Allegheny County and the Allegheny County Department of Human Services Systems Improvement Through Youth (S.I.T.Y) Council to participate in a very exciting awareness campaign in May:

The Rally for Children: Soul Train Edition – Wednesday, May 22 at 11:30 — County Courthouse Courtyard

CASA, DHS and a host of volunteers will carry several cut-outs of children along Forbes Avenue to the Courtyard of the County Court House, the location of the Rally for Children.  The cut-outs of children will draw attention to the 11:30AM rally which will last under 30 minutes.  The visual of many sturdy, cut-outs of CASA “children” and the adults carrying them will make a dynamic backdrop for featured speakers who will address a variety of perspectives including youth currently in foster care, mentors and volunteers.  And, immediately following the rally, we will “shimmy” out in traditional Soul Train Line fashion!

Don’t forget to visit the Forgotten Children Website!  This page provides a comprehensive list of links to different established opportunities to contribute to a child’s wellbeing, including participating in awareness events, donating items or services, and becoming a foster parent, mentor or volunteer. Consider including or updating your organization’s information and/or including a link to your web site.  To view the Forgotten Children website please visit http://www.pgh-casa.org/forgotten)

If you are interested in participating and/or volunteering during the rally, please RSVP NOW online or contact Daren Ellerbee at 412-594-3606 ext. 207 (dellerbee@pgh-casa.org) before Friday, May 17, 2013.   You can also click here for more information.
